The "Oil or Acrylics" class was offered through the Islip Arts Council and taught by Randy Weisbin. 6 weeks on Wednesdays for 2 hours.
I really loved this class and have signed up for another session starting in January 2023. The following paintings were all done in November and December 2022 and were all given as gifts to loved ones, except for the flowers, which I kept. Most of the paintings are very small, only 5"x5". The Vase of Flowers is 11" x 14". All were done using acrylics, and most used the same process taught in class. Drawing a grid over the sample photo, and a matching grid on the canvas. Then transferring the shapes to the canvas and beginning to add color in tones, then refine the edges and shapes, then add deeper colors, define details, and add highlights and shadows.
